The modern Christchurch International Airport handles domestic flights and frequent direct flights from Australia, Asia and much further afield. Auckland also serves Christchurch as a long-haul international gateway.  Being just a one-hour easy scenic drive from the airport, Terrace Downs is a favourite of casual visitors and in-house guests alike. The drive from the International Airport is along the Mount Hutt access road for forty minutes before turning off to Terrace Downs and travelling through the rich farming pastures of Canterbury High Country.   Terrace Downs can also arrange for scenic transfers by helicopter, plus leisure flights and easy access to the close by snowfields, which are hosted by towering Mount Hutt – the impressive backdrop to the resort.
